Korean Overseas Information Service (KOIS)
The Korean Overseas Information Service (KOIS) was established
on December 31, 1971 under the Ministry of Culture and Information.
Its goal then as it is now was to help the outside world better
understand Korea and its people and culture as well as major

Explore Korea: A Visit to Grandfather's
House at the Seattle Asian Art Museum
Opened October 23, 1999 - Explore Korea: A Visit to Grandfather?
House is the first interactive exhibition for families at the
Seattle Asian Art Museum. Visitors will take a journey to explore
the daily lifestyle of a Korean family in Grandfather? time.
The exhibition features an architectural setting based on a
traditional Korean house, a display of Korean folk art, a mural
by Seattle-area Korean-American artists, a videotape, and an
art workshop space.

International Council on Korean Studies (ICKS)
The International Council on Korean Studies (ICKS) is a non-profit
and non-partisan organization dedicated to the advancement of
Korean studies and related academic and professional activities
in the United States and abroad through conferences, seminars,
publications, and other relevant activities.
Korean American, Adoptee, Adoptive Family Network (KAAN) The Korean American, Adoptee, Adoptive Family Network (KAAN) offers an annual national conference and a weekly email newsletter. Our mission is to network groups and individuals related to Korean adoptions.

Korean Heritage Library at the University of Southern California
(USC)
The Korean Heritage Library was established in April, 1986 with
the aim of building comprehensive collections in all areas of
Korean studies, including history, culture, language, literature,
philosophy, thought, sociology, politics, economics, and art.
In its first 13 years, it has emerged as one of six leading
Korean collections in North America. The KHL's particular strengths
are in Korean newspapers, Korean-American and immigration history,
Korean cinema, journalism and mass media, Korean independence
movements, the Korean War, and local materials of the Cholla-do
region. The
Korea Institute at Harvard University
The Korea Institute is Harvard University's only non-departmental
entity for the support and development of Korean Studies at
Harvard. Originally established in 1981 as part of the Fairbank
Center for East Asian Research, it became a completely autonomous
organization in 1993. University
of Hawaii Korean Studies Center
The University of Hawaii's Center for Korean Studies was established
in 1972 to support and coordinate the activities of students
and faculty with Korea-related teaching and research interests.
Now with more than twenty faculty members offering courses and
conducting research related to Korea in fields such as Asian
studies, dance, economics, history, language, linguistics, literature,
music, political science, and sociology, the Center is home
to the oldest and largest Korean studies program outside of

Publications
KoreAm Journal Established
in 1990, KoreAm Journal is a rapidly growing monthly magazine
that highlights the news, stories and issues of Korean Americans
nationwide. By embracing all generations, including the mixed-race
and adoptee communities, KoreAm Journal has become the most
widely circulated (more than 40,000 readers), longest-running
(publishing 180-plus issues over the last 15 years), independent
English-language publication serving the Korean American community.
