Sung-ok Kim

Sung-ok Kim was born in Osaka, Japan in 1941. A graduate of Seoul National University, he broke onto the literary scene in 1962 when his short story, “Practice of Life” won the Hankook Ilbo’s Sinchun Literature Award. In 196, he went on to win the 10th Dongin Literature Award with “Seoul-1964-Winter” and the 1st Yi Sang Literature Award with “Chapter 0 of the Moonllight in Seoul” in 1977. Since then he has gone to publish many other important works, including “Pocket Book of Fantasies,” “In Order to Understand My Sister,” “A Journey to Mujin,” “15 Fixed Ideas that I Examined” and “Our Low Fence.”
